           তোমারই কালজয়
এস এম মোমিনুল আই এ জে 

তুমি-ই এসেছিলে আর হেসেছিলে
আমার দরজায় কড়া নেড়েছিলে
তোমার আসা-যাওয়া, হাসির ছন্দে 
বন্ধ দরজার খিল খুলেছে আপন তটে।

সাড়া দিয়েছিলাম তোমার সেই ডাকে
আষ্টে পৃষ্ঠে বেঁধে রেখেছিলাম তোমার-ই মায়ার বন্ধনে
তুমি চেয়েছিলে বলে সবটুকু উজাড় করে দিয়েছি
নাম দিয়েছিলে তোমার নিজের মতো করে।

কত বাধা-বিপত্তি, ঝড়, বৃষ্টিবাদল উপেক্ষা করে
নিজের সব আশা, ইচ্ছাটুকু বাদ দিয়ে 
আগলিয়ে রেখেছিলাম তোমায়
অল্পতে নয়, পুরোটাজুড়েই বাস করেছিলাম 
কারণ আমি তার নাম দিয়েছিলাম ভালবাসা।

কখনো তো কিচ্ছু চাইনি, 
মন কিছু তো চায়, সামান্য হলেও কিছু 
কিন্তু বিনিময়ে পেলাম ঘন কালো মেঘ।

বুঝতে পারিনি, হয়ত বুঝতেও চাইনি
তবে দেরিতে হলেও বুঝেছি-জেনেছি,
দুনিয়ার স্বার্থপরতায় তুমিও অংশীদার।
সময়-সুযোগ মতো ঠিক পাশ কাটিয়ে চলে গেছো 
নিজের পুরোটাই বুঝে নিয়েছো, 
অবশেষে আমি ফাঁকা, আর একা!

শান্ত নদী, শান্ত শ্যামল, ধীর টলমল ক্ষণে হয় পরিবর্তন 
সবসময় একইরকম রয়ে গেলাম 
যদিও আমি তাতেই খুশি, তাহাতেই বাচি 
শুধু তোমার দুনিয়াটা সুন্দর রাখব বলে ভালবেসেছিলাম, 
তুমি তো বুঝলে না, 
হারিয়েছো তুমি, হেরেছো তুমি, আমি তো নই।  

In English:

         Yours is the Joy

       S M MOMINUL I A J

You came and laughed

You knocked on my door

Your coming and going, in the rhythm of laughter

The locked door has been unlocked by you.


I responded to your call

I had tied you to my back in the bonds of that illusion

I desolated everything because you wanted me to

You gave name that was as like your own wish.


Ignoring many obstacles, storms, rain and clouds

leaving all my hopes and desires behind, 

I kept up cherish you in front of me

Living not in a little bit, but in the whole

Because I gave it the name love.


I never wanted anything,

My heart wants something, even if it's just a little bit,

But in return I got a thick black cloud.


I didn't understand, maybe didn't want to understand too

But even though it's late, I understand and know 

You too are a participant in the selfishness of the world.

You passed right by, like time and opportunity

You have fully understand yourself,

Finally I am empty, and alone!


The calm river, the calm green, the slow swaying, changes in a moment

I always stayed the same

Even though I am happy with that, I live with that

I loved you just to keep your world beautiful,

You don't understand,

You are lost, you have lost, not me.
